So vivid. So many questions. Is it from an existing story, or did it just pop up? If so, will you keep going with it?

First line Midnight Blue

Mickey started the Suzuki and sped away from the curb, taking the wind with him.

One of my favorite things to do while browsing a bookstore is to pick up a book, any book, and read the first sentence. Sometimes I’m intrigued, sometimes confused, and occasionally indifferent. But when an author grabs my attention, it’s magical.

Bonus prompt:

The street was covered with whistles - different sizes, colors - nothing but whistles.

I thought of Mardi Gras. The after effect of a party

Hmm…it sounds like maybe there was ICE in the neighborhood and everyone brought one to protest them being there…or maybe it was a big big birthday celebration for the city and they hadn’t them out to make some noise…I think you must explain!

Ok opening line (funny since it’s Friday):

In the beginning the Universe was created.

This had made many people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move.

A lot of times my first line is the last thing I write. I tend to sleep on it think on it ponder it. My ending is usually unexpected and just comes to me while writing. A lot of times the story changes as I write

That’s the way I write…no outline, just a character and a slice of ideas I hope I can splice together. And I don’t write linearly or in sequence…I’m all over the map and once I’ve written something I can’t delete it…it seems unfair to my characters who made it happen..in the novel I wrote, I was stuck for many years on the most important plot point of the whole book…I could not figure it out, but kept writing. After a few years pause due to family issues I went back to it, putting it in order as I reread and recalled the characters, so I’d be where they were when I added any writing. Surely I had changed being away from them, but they couldn’t…and then it dawned On me. I solved the puzzle and was so excited - it was a perfect plot point…

Yup on the writer post for the mistake…I had something completely different in mind and just started writing and a different mistake came out and then added in the wire and homicide characters completely not what was intended…but kind of worked! 😂

That leaves much to be told, to behold, and could go in many directions!
