A story based on the Writer Wednesday prompt. Feel free to post your own stoies!

It was time to pack up. Time to leave.

He said, “Honey, let’s pack up.”

You see?

They were young, in their early twenties. He had moved to LA a year before, and then, for some reason about six months in, married this girl from back home. They’d met slinging pies at Ed’s Best Pizza three years before that.

He always thought, like almost everyone who knew them, that they never should have married. But they did. Only her mother seemed excited about it. Heck, they were going to get married the year before that. The girl even got a dress and had invitations made. Her mother had made tiny wedding desserts with fondant icing that sat in the freezer for months, you see, after the first time was called off and the dress got packed away.

The mother’s pressure on them was really something, I’m telling you. Especially since he had no money. Still worse, he figured he should be an actor and had up and left their rural town to try his hand at it in Hollywood of all places.
