It was like no time had passed. Ron is another one of those incredible crew members who made our experience in Baltimore priceless. He came down to Baltimore from Toronto to be a stand-in at the request of his brother, Clark (Meldrick!) and ending up staying for six years. He was part of the seamless fabric of our set, stitched together with love, joy, and a sense of family - both the beautiful and the beautifully dysfunctional. In our talk, Ron shares his thoughts about his time on Homicide: Life on the Street. He also talks about the history of racial and class divisions in Baltimore, his experience in social justice and advocacy and his unique, behind the scenes take on how the many disparate groups on Homicide took care of one another, and when it was really cooking, how they blended into one. This talk tends to circle back around to this truth: that we have more in common than we think and if we listen closely and tune into those around us - we might just get along better.
It was great to catch up with him and get his compassionate perspective.
